Let your small home look spacious!

The more space you can see, the more spacious your home will feel. It
doesn't matter whether your feet can appreciate the space-think about the
space under beds, sofas, tables, etc. As long as your eyes can, your home
will feel more spacious. So choose furniture that leaves the most space
for your eyes to enjoy. Choose long legs rather than useless box framing
or unused drawers. Choose chairs with open backs, or maybe even stools.

Look at how these long legs open up the space. Look at how the homeowner
took back the space most sofas waste-with their bulky box frames-with a
simple flat frame. How about the coffee and side tables? The homeowner
knew he doesn't have magazine subscriptions or a gaggle of remote
controls. So he cut drawers and shelves to a minimum in favor of longer
legs and more open space.

However, the work area is a slightly different story. The homeowner knew
full well his work area would look much more spacious if his desk were
simply a writing surface with four legs. But he has a computer tower and
a lot of papers, so he opted for a desk with more storage. However, the
homeowner doesn't ask a lot of his seating, so he was strip-happy when
selecting a desk chair. Appreciate how thin the metal is, and how open
the back is.

This homeowner decided she didn't need dining chairs with their
space-robbing backs. She reasoned on most days she only spends a few
minutes at the dining table, and her friends at the occasional dinner
party could care less about leaning back, so stools would do just fine.

These two homeowners took the time to figure out where they could find
more space in a piece of furniture. And now they get to enjoy wonderful,
spacious apartments.
