An artist who enclosed himself in a huge cage with a lion in Qingdao
Wildlife Park said that through the extreme activity, he wished to raise
people's awareness for the pains of isolation and learn to communicate
with others.

Ye Fu, an artist and poet, entered the 4-metre-high, 3-meter-wide iron
cage on Tuesday with the accompaniment of an assistant and a lion. They
planned to stay in the cage for 10 days eating raw beef and drinking tap
water like the lion does; no talking is allowed.

Last year, Ye made a name for himself after he had stayed in a huge bird
nest hung outside a high-rise in Beijing for one month.
